Sometimes our past can heavily influence our present day, to how we think, behave, and navigate through life and our experience with others. By exploring your early life, significant events, and memories that you still carry we can explore any defense mechanisms adopted from this, what's being stored in the subconscious, and how much this baggage is still weighing us down from moving forward today.
Empathic
What's the worst that can happen?You might feel your brain comes up with that answer or 'what if's' all the time. In CBT, we can explore a vicious cycle that may have been formed from distorted and irrational thinking, by addressing the interconnection of feelings/physical sensations, thoughts, and altering these to a rational perspective instead my clients can move forwards.
Supportive
You know yourself better than anyone else, regardless of what others claim. By providing a non judgmental, honest, and empathetic environment clients feel free to express their opinion on self and therapy. This can promote independence, clients feel that they gain responsibility to take control back in parts of their lives, and respect their own decisions and feelings.
